BCDC Planning for upcoming Leadership Short Course
Effective leadership is critical for communities as they work to maintain their vitality and sustainability for years to come. As the population grows and expands, leaders, current and new, will be needed to help navigate the changes in communities, business, farms and ranches. “With the increase in activity and growth of our communities, it is imperative to focus on leadership sustainability.” BCDC Teran Doerr indicated.
The Bowman County Development Corporation in cooperation with Rural Leadership North Dakota, and the Bowman County NDSU Extension Services, is excited to bring the Bowman County Leadership Short Course to Southwest North Dakota. The Leadership Short Course was created as an off-shoot of the Rural Leadership North Dakota program to provide more localized leadership development opportunities with a smaller time commitment. The purpose of the program is to prepare and develop effective leaders to strengthen rural communities.
Rural areas do not always have accessibility to leadership development, which creates a unique challenge in energizing individuals to step forward, develop and utilize their skills in the leadership roles available in communities. The Short Course program is being planned with those intentions and is an ideal opportunity to receive high-quality leadership development right within the community of Bowman.
The Bowman County Leadership Short Course will be offered in five sessions, with the first session beginning January 16 and concluding March 13. Classes will be held at the Sweetwater Golf Course in Bowman, ND from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. There is $250 registration fee. Registration includes lunch for each session and a variety of educational materials. Class size is limited. Those interested in attending can contact the Bowman County Development Corporation at 701.523.5880 or Business@BowmanND.com.
