OFFICIAL NOTICE OF PRIMARY ELECTION AND FILING DEADLINE FOR BOWMAN COUNTY OFFICES

Notice is hereby given that the Bowman County Primary Election will be held on Tuesday, June 12th, 2018.

The filing deadline for county offices is 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 9th, 2018

Every candidate for public office must file an Affidavit of Candidacy and a Statement of Interest form with the applicable filing officer at the same time he or she files their Petition/Certificate of Nomination.  Candidates for county offices must file their petitions with the County Auditor.  Petitions for county offices must contain signatures of not less than 2% of the votes cast for the same office in the last General Election. 

The following federal, state, and county offices will be on the Primary Election ballot:

CONGRESSIONAL:  United States Senator and Representative in Congress

STATE:  Secretary of State; Attorney General; Agriculture Commissioner; Tax Commissioner; Public Service Commissioner (6 year term); and Public Service Commissioner (unexpired 2 year term)

State Legislative District Seats:  Senate and House of Representatives

NO-PARTY BALLOT:  Justice of the Supreme Court and Judges of the Southwest Judicial District (Judgeship numbers 1, 3, and 4 (term ends 12/31/2022 for judgeship 4)

COUNTY:  County Commissioner (2 positions); County Auditor; County Treasurer; County State’s Attorney; County Recorder/Clerk of Court; County Sheriff; Director, Southwest Water Authority; and Official County Newspaper

The Bowman School District and the City of Bowman will also be conducting their elections in conjunction with the Primary Election on June 12th, 2018.  Please contact Bowman School District Business Manager or the Bowman City Auditor for more information on their elections.
