The City Auditor position is appointed. In December 2009, Judy will complete her 20th year of service to the city.

Duties of the City Auditor include:
The auditor position is very diversified. A knowledge of your city, its organizations, services and businesses is a must as many requests are received for this information. The auditor must be able to address complaints or provide someone who can address the complaint.

Other duties include scheduling all regular and special meetings, preparing an agenda for each meeting and recording the minutes of all commission meetings. The auditor attests to the official approval of the commission’s decisions and keeps the commission up to date on city issues.

The auditor is responsible for all financial transactions of the city. This includes payroll, maintaining payroll records and preparing all monthly, quarterly and yearly required reports. The auditor is responsible for recording all revenue and expenditure actions of the city and provides the requested records for the city’s annual audit. This office reconciles city accounts and prepares monthly financial reports for the commissioners. One of the main duties is preparation of the annual City Budget.

The auditor is responsible for the billing of all city services. This includes keeping customer account information current and updating the commission and city personnel of delinquent accounts. City raffle permits and annual liquor licenses are issued by this office. Other duties include taking bookings for the public meeting room, keeping fixed asset inventory up to date, maintaining adequate insurance coverage and publishing all notices, ordinances and legal notices.
